Things you should consider when looking for and selecting a LED light bulb:-

1)Check the operation voltage of your existing bulb.LED light bulbs can work on all the mains voltage between AC 85V and 265V.

2)Check the size of bulb.Not all LED lights bulbs are the same size as your existing halogen light bulbs,so check the dimensions of the bulb before you buy as it might not fit in your light fitting.

3)When you buy LED bulbs,you must match the base sizes.Most common household fixtures have pin or Edison,also known as screw-in,bases.

4)Check the lumens and the beam angle.The lumen output of the bulb is a measure of its brightness.The higher the figure,the brighter the LED bulb.Some LED bulbs give a false impression of brightness as they have a very narrow beam,resulting in a bright light but that is only very narrow in size.

How to install lights?

Open the box that the light came in and examine the contents.There should be a package with instructions and mounting hardware included,a fixture and a globe.

Firstly,shut the power off at the fuse panel to the circuit.Use a tester to be sure the power is off at the box.

To prepare electrical connection,use razor knife and cut 6inches of outer sheath coating off of NM wire.Trim off,remove the paper inner wrapping.Strip about 3/4″ of the conductor insulation from the wires.

Install the mounting bracket by fastening it to the box using two 8-32 screws.Install the green ground screw into the bracket.Thread the longer 8-32 screws into the bracket to hold the main body of fixture tightly.

Next connect the ground wire from the feeder wire and the ground wire from the fixture to the bracket ground screw.Tie the white wires together using a wire nut.Now,connect the two black wires together using a wire nut.Gently push the excess wire back into the box alongside the bracket.

Now press the fixture up towards the box and align the screw holes.The screws should come out of the holes provided.Twist the fixture to secure the screws in the hole slots.Tighten the screws,but not over tighten.Be sure that there are no wires hanging out of the side of the fixture base.

Install the light bulbs.Don’t exceed the maximum wattage for the bulbs for safety sake!

Take the globe provided and install it on the fixture.This may be attached by using clips provided in the package,or by using screws on the outside of the fixture.

Now turn the circuit back on and test the fixture by turning the switch on!
